Like many of Dave's carvings this dramatic sculpture was inspired by events witnessed while observing his subject in the field. A peregrine falcon has found its prey in flight and struck a stunning blow from above, only to loop in the air and return to the falling bluejay. The sculpture's swooping lines, polished walnut finish, and selective attention to detail allow the viewer to feel the rush of wind and sense the connection between hunter and prey.
