Man O' War++A distinguished collector of fine woodcarvings commissioned David to carve a suite of four solid walnut murals, each a 4 foot square, deep relief portrait of horse racing's greatest winners; Secretariat, Coaltown, Whirlaway, and Man-O-War seen here. Each mural has a custom matched walnut frame, and pairs the strength and beauty of two of Kentucky's most revered natural assets - thoroughbred horses and native walnut. This is an oustanding example of the artist's most sensitive and dramatic work.1998 Kentucky Derby Finish++This solid cherry relief mural depicts "Real Quiet's" dramatic win at the 1998 Kentucky Derby. The finely muscled horses, distinctive architecture of Churchill Downs, and the finish line perspective created numerous, but rewarding challenges for the carver. The beauty of the aged Kentucky cherry beautifully highlights the drama and historic tradition of the Kentucky Derby. The carving is complete on both sides allowing its collectors to enjoy it as a mural and in the round. 44 inches in diameter.University of Kentucky Mural++This is a finely detailed basswood mural painted in acrylic. It is framed in cherry. It is approximately 58x42 inches. It depicts scenes and buildings at the University of Kentucky.
